Fluid Measure

Lake and rainforest vistas and restrained design make this wilderness retreat one of a kind.

This block was covered in cabbage palms and other rainforest species. It also had a creek running through it. The owner realised the potential of the project and also the challenges of a design and building of this kind.

The design process though uncomplicated took over two years for council approval. Through hard work and our expert advice we succeeded in achiving an amazing unique home.

Creating a retreat from the city grind was the motivation for the building, and the house has been occupied every weekend since completetion. The 350sqm house, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, faces northwest. Its skillion roof is elevated to the north, with amazing floor to ceiling glazing on three sides, flooding the living areas with natural light.

A large dining and living space, high ceilings, knockout water views and large bedrooms, plus the timber walkway from the two car garage and studio above, creates a sense of taking a journey through the rainforest. This house more then met the expectations of the client.
